嘉宾简介：戴维·威利茨阁下，英国国会下议院议员，前大学与科学大臣（2010.5-2014.7），2010年7月被任命为枢密院委员。他曾就职于英国财政部，在最近一任保守党政府中担任主计长，在英国创新、大学与技能部、就业与退休保障部、贸易与工业部担任影子内阁大臣。他是迪奇雷基金会会长、英国财政研究所理事会会员。在任英国大学与科学大臣期间，他非常重视与中国的科技合作交流。2013年12月，戴维·威利茨阁下访问中国期间，与科技部万钢部长共同推动中英科研创新合作、落实中英联合科学创新基金和科技金融合作。

演讲梗概：For the Abstract, he will explain Britain'spolicies for promoting science and our record in winning Nobel Prizes. He will turn to opportunities for co-operation through the Newton Fund. He will also discuss the challenges of taking scientific ideas through to successful commercialisation. That leads to the eight great technologies he identified inBritain and how they can be supported for the future. He will end with thoughts on how China and Britain can co-operate together in technology commercialisation too.
